  • The Upstanders · Business Community Perspective

Student mental health is important, which we can all agree on. Last week the district showed the movie, The Upstanders that explores the power of connection and resilience to identify and address bullying behavior, both online and in person. What I appreciated about the film is that it shows and gets you thinking about the importance of empathy, self-care, and reflection to transform attitudes and actions. This is equally important for the business community and if we can change the bullying culture in schools, it will translate to the workforce.

Creative Coping Toolkit

My county serves children of all demographics including those in poverty. The Creative Coping Toolkit (CCT) is not only appropriate but needed because it offers practical tips that are accessible to all. The films help kids understand the brain science behind anxiety symptoms and to be equipped with healthy tools that empower them.

  • Creative Coping Toolkit

The films were a powerful tool to help open up conversations about anxiety, digital citizenship, bullying, and belonging. The accompanying tools and resources made it easier to support our educators and keep the conversation going for students and their families.

  • The Upstanders

I think this film really inspires you to stand up. I liked knowing that even just helping someone get out of a situation can be helpful. This makes standing up for someone a little less scary.
